For the past 15 years, The Jimmy Fund has teamed up with WEEI Sports Radio Network, New England Sports Network (NESN), and the Boston Red Sox for an annual Radio-Telethon to strike out cancer. On on Monday, Aug. 29th they kicked off a 36-hour broadcast over two days and two Red Sox games. Over $40 million has been raised since 2002 to support Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s lifesaving mission.
HSF’s roots were established when current board member, Joe Merry, valiantly battled against and beat cancer. Joe received his treatment at Dana Farber. We were honored to issue a grant for $7,500 to The Jimmy Fund as a partner in our inaugural charity golf outing and today, we officially joined “Jimmy’s Team” by making a recurring, year-round monthly gift to help strike out cancer!
