Update on Neil Hajjar

Dec 12, 2022 | News & Events

Hope Strengthens Foundation (HSF) recently reconnected with the family of Neil Hajjar. Neil has inspired us over the years through his difficult battles with a developmental condition called MECP2 duplication syndrome and a cerebrovascular disorder called Moyamoya disease.

Neil loves going to his new school, which he has been attending since last March. He enjoys socializing with all the special people that work there and his fellow students.

Neil has a big surgery coming up in March, 2023. He requires a spinal fusion for scoliosis that has progressed very rapidly. He is near a 70 degree curve. Appointments are being planned for surgery clearance and certain medical procedures need to be completed first. As you can imagine, this is a stressful time for the family and everyone is fighting alongside Neil to prepare for his upcoming surgery and follow-on recovery.

Thanks to the continued support of our donors, HSF will be covering lodging so Neil’s family can stay nearby during his surgery at New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital. If you’d like to make a donation to support Neil and his family, please visit the following link:
