Partnering for Patients and Families

Thanks to our generous donors, Hope Strengthens Foundation (HSF) is proud to advance our partnership with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) Pediatric Resource Program that provides resource assistance to eligible families whose children are currently receiving treatment at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center.

In the stem cell transplant program, many patients have hematologic illnesses that do not make them eligible for assistance from the many foundations that traditionally support pediatric cancer families. Examples include patients with diagnoses such as aplastic anemia, sickle cell, Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, Hurler syndrome, and several others.

HSF’s support of the DFCI Pediatric Resource Program helps provide direct, immediate financial support to help eligible families with expenses related to their child’s care acting as a bridge between immediate needs and longer-term solutions. This may include assistance with short-term accommodations for patients and family members traveling to Boston for treatment, gift cards for gas/transportation, food, and household expenses.
