We recently had the opportunity to visit with our partners at the Mass General Brigham Cancer Institute at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (WDH). Through this partnership, Hope Strengthens Foundation (HSF) has established a fund to provide critical financial support to patients undergoing cancer treatment and to enhance the well-being of survivors during their recovery journey.
This collaboration allows us to provide immediate and meaningful assistance, ensuring that cancer patients and their families in the community can focus on healing without the added burden of unmet needs.
A Partnership Rooted in Community
This partnership holds deep personal significance, as it was established in memory of Jack and Joanne Lynch, parents of longtime HSF supporter, Chris Lynch. Their legacy as role models and community leaders now directly strengthens and inspires patients and families facing their own battles.
We also celebrate the dedication of the WDH team, including Chris’s wife, Heather Lynch, a Nurse Navigator at the hospital. Heather works on the front lines to educate and guide patients through their full continuum of care, from diagnosis to survivorship, providing invaluable insight that ensures our support truly meets patients where they are.
Delivering Hope and Strength
The funds contributed by HSF are directed by the WDH team to cover a variety of urgent patient needs, including:
– Direct financial aid for essentials like transportation to treatment.
– Support for wellness programs for both current patients and survivors, such as nutrition, exercise rehabilitation, and integrative therapies.
– Resources to supplement the excellent patient navigation services offered by the hospital.
