Partnership Expansion

Apr 4, 2021 | News & Events

In 2019, Hope Strengthens Foundation (HSF) and Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center established a partnership to support patients who recently completed cancer treatment. HSF covered the cost for patients to progress through a customized, 90-day wellness program led by Donavan’s Wellness Solutions to re-establish the physical and dietary elements required to get one’s body and mind back on track following cancer treatment.

The partnership successfully funded wellness programs for Kimberly Sheldon and Dana Howard following breast cancer treatment at Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center.

Working with my trainer was extremely helpful battling my fatigue. We have been able to meet in the pool which has been great for me both physically and mentally. In the beginning, I felt pretty weak. I had a hard time even getting out of the pool with the neuropathy in my feet. I feel stronger today and I know it is from the help of my trainer working me out and encouraging me through every phase of my treatment. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

Unfortunately, as a result of COVID-19, the program had to be paused.

Program Expansion

HSF and Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center are excited to advance our partnership in order to support additional patient needs. Through the leadership and collaboration of the St. Helena Hospital Foundation, a patient fund has been established and will be supported over time by contributions from Hope Strengthens Foundation and our donors.

This fund will be accessed by the Care Management Team at Martin-O’Neil Cancer Center to support validated patient care needs. Examples include transportation for cancer treatment, scalp cooling, post-treatment wellness program fees, sleeves and gauntlets for lymphedema treatment and other medical and care needs that directly support patients who are dealing with health and financial challenges.
