Last month, Hope Strengthens Foundation was honored to visit Northeastern University Bouvé College of Health Sciences – School of Nursing to fund our second round of scholarships. We are excited to share details about this year’s scholarship recipients once they are selected.
In supporting beneficiaries who are facing a life-threatening illness, disability, or recovery from traumatic injuries, we have the opportunity to interact with numerous healthcare professionals who are doing incredible work to care for the needs of the beneficiaries we are privileged to assist.
Recognizing the demands of becoming a healthcare professional and the positive difference they can make in the lives of their patients, Hope Strengthens Foundation has established scholarships to support college students in their pursuit of a career in healthcare.
Last year’s scholarship recipients moved us with their stories. We were able to assist a first generation college student whose father passed away after his first semester at college. This tragedy required the student to temporarily leave school and move back home. After caring for his family, the student returned to school and excelled in his courses while supporting himself financially.
Another scholarship recipient was a part of a philanthropy program at Northeastern, advocating for improved mental health services for youth. This first generation college student was also the first in her family to graduate from high school.
