Hope Strengthens Foundation (HSF) recently visited Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Pediatric Resource Program to present a contribution in support of our ongoing partnership and discuss expanding our joint efforts for pediatric patients and their families.
Advisory Board members Maxwell Latif and Patrick Sweeney represented HSF, joining Dana-Farber’s Joe Chabot and Brianne Ryan to discuss our collaborative progress and address the critical financial burdens facing pediatric oncology families.
Our discussion focused on three primary areas of need:
Transportation: Easing the cost of fuel and transit for families traveling frequently to Boston for treatment.
Lodging: Helping families maintain stable housing, and ensuring access to accommodations near the hospital during extended treatment stays.
Nutrition: Ensuring patients and families have reliable access to healthy meals throughout care.
Looking ahead, both teams explored ways to broaden our reach, streamline aid delivery, and scale our impact so no family has to choose between essential everyday needs and life-saving care for their child.
