Delivering hope & strength throughout the year

Dec 31, 2024 | News & Events

With the New Year just around the corner, we’ve been looking back with heartfelt gratitude for the privilege of putting your generous donations into action to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Thanks to your support, Hope Strengthens Foundation (HSF) achieved several significant milestones this year. For example, since inception, we have now delivered support to more than 150 families and met more than 1,000 targeted needs such as medical bills, specialized equipment, and reimbursement for expenses related to direct care. HSF has also delivered 30 college scholarships to aspiring healthcare professionals who will positively impact the lives of the same patients and families we aim to assist.

During 2024, we were honored to assist inspirational people like Chris Menne as he battled leukemia and John McDermott as he worked to overcome a spinal cord injury.

We advanced existing partnerships with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Pediatric Resource Program and Mass General Cancer Center at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital (in memory of Jack and Joanne Lynch). These strategic alliances with hospital patient service programs allowed us to deliver targeted assistance to many more families than we could on our own.

Thanks to the generous support of longtime donors, Jim and Tricia Clancy, we expanded our partnership with Home Base, a national nonprofit dedicated to healing the invisible wounds of war for veterans of all eras, active service members, military families, and families of the fallen through world-class, direct clinical care, wellness, education and research – all at no cost to them.

With the wonderful support of long-time donor Loukas Nakos and his family, we delivered four scholarships at the University of New Hampshire College of Health and Human Services to first generation college students.

We also delivered two scholarships at Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences, School of Nursing to first generation college students who are excelling at their studies.

In addition, we awarded another scholarship in the memory of our very first beneficiary, Ally Smith. This year’s recipient was Elena Govoni, who graduated from Walpole High School (MA) and is attending Endicott College. We were thrilled to recognize Elena as she personifies the character and qualities we look for in honoring Ally Smith’s memory.

With your continued generosity, Hope Strengthens Foundation will be optimally positioned to help many more families in our communities who are facing a life-threatening illness, disability, or recovery from traumatic injuries, both directly and through our partnerships with leading hospitals. Additionally, we will continue to focus on the next generation of healthcare professionals by increasing current scholarship funds.

Thanks again to all of our donors, partners, and volunteers for your generosity and unwavering support!
